The Bards of New Brighton

This friendly and supportive group for local writers and poets meets on the second Monday of every month at the Magazine Pub ('the mags'), 7 Magazine Brow, New Brighton, Merseyside.

Whatever your taste in poetry....profound, punky or preposterous....you'll find something at The Bards.

Come and read out your poems or prose, or just listen to others.

 

Our Meetings start at 8.00pm and will take place on the following dates in 2009:

Martin's Review

In the relaxed atmosphere of the Magazine Pub in New Brighton this group is a great mix of fun, clever writing and a supportive audience.

Poets and musicians performed at the meeting I went to (11th August 2008) dealing with a mix of sadness over the closure of SS Peter and Paul's Church and humorous issues.

I would recommend that anyone who is able to go along does as the groups seems to be a good place for first timers and old 'pros' alike.
