About Dave

I was born in 1958, when it was all trees around here, and once again (for the 3rd time) in 1992 I started writing to pass the time on Night shifts in Fords, Halewood UK ( ..it was better than building cars..) Some of the lads I worked with thought the stuff I was writing was quite good (...They NEVER laughed or mocked me for writing poems....shame on them hairy assed philistines!!...isn't that what you are supposed to do to" Sensitive souls ??"). One lad sent a copy of one of my poems to the "Liverpool Echo" (without my knowledge), and I was very surprised to have it accepted, and published, in an Anthology of poetry in remembrance of the Hillsborough disaster, which contained only 95 verses ( Rest in Peace, Tony Bland....he was still on life support machines when it was published... ). out of the thousands that were submitted, they picked mine to represent a victim.....now THAT was an honour. ( ...I don't even follow football!!!) from then on, I have took writing a bit more seriously...but hope to keep the "Fun" in it as well....
