Hi there! My name is Tasmin Jahan. I am a playwright from Kent. The human relationship has always been the centre of attention for me. Being part of a wide and diverse social circle has made me understand and evaluate what makes and breaks a relationship. I discovered my passion for writing during a long trip to Sylhet, Bangladesh back in 1984. I have a great knowledge of both distinct cultures and I intend to revolutionize the way in which plays are perceived within the twenty first century.
I have three published plays available nationwide and overseas. My first publication ‘A Stinging Affair’ is about how relationships can go wrong. Emily and Jack are central to the drama and they lie and cheat until one decides to stop.
Then followed, ‘The Root of all Evil’. The main character, Frederick Devereux is a tyrant and has a very tight leash on his family members. The mansion staff add to the comedy and sarcasm. His sudden murder is no surprise but who did it? This play is in many US university libraries such as Yale and Princeton.
Recently published ‘Stinging Filth and Bloody Hands’ is an explosive piece. Emily returns, unhappy and desperate to get Jack. She gleefully exposes their adultery at his wife’s funeral. She drives an inexhaustible force of malice and deceit fuelled by her innate thirst for adultery. Her intense desire exudes many twists and turns infused with brutal murder, vengeance and sordid sex.
When asked about influences:
"My intention is to revolutionize the way in which readers perceive plays. My plays are in a league of their own."
